Is this heaven?

Is this heaven? Not exactly, it's Iowa. To be exact, its the University of Iowa in Iowa City. True it isn't heaven in the biblical sense, but in the sense of spirituality through genuine life experience it definitely could be heaven. I have never come across a more interesting and diverse group of people in such close proximity and with such open social spheres. There is an overall climate of acceptance here that makes this campus, and in turn this city, a desirable place for creative minds and those who wish to discover "what else is out there".

I highly recommend investigating the paths to academic excellence provided by the University of Iowa. Come to Iowa City, check out the campus, watch a football game! You'll love it here as much as I do!

What's up with this "pot" stuff?

I heard that the Supreme Court outlawed the use of medicinal marijuana. Hmm... that really makes me want to go smoke a left-handed cigarette (::brb::). In fact, I think I'm going to go eat a bowl of Captain Crunch and watch CNN Headline News for a few hours to see if all the hype is true.
Oh wait, Headline News runs on a half hour loop... man, this could take all day. Maybe I'll just watch "Puff the Magic Dragon", at least then I won't have to interpret all that darn symbolism in the modern media.
What's up with that "Supreme Court" anyway? They seem to think that they control how the law applies to everyone. What kind of god or monarch made them so "supreme" anyway? mmm.... Supreme... Taco Pizza... I think I'm going to review the dissenting opinions of Justices Sandra Day O'Connor, William Rehnquist and Clarence Thomas over a Happy Joe's Taco Supreme pizza. Maybe buffalo wings actually, and an olive pizza... yeah... mmmm...
Anyway, what were we talking about? Oh yeah, symbolism in the media... I think if the King wants to buy a dragon, he should. I think if the King doesn't want to buy a dragon, he shouldn't. I don't think the King should send his minions out to say that the "law of the land is that no man nor beast shall (cultivate or) EHERML (excuse me, had to clear my throat) possess dragons, even people who claim personal "medicinal" use." Obviously, dragons have their dangers, I know as well anyone after nearly being mauled by a dragon and his dreadlocked master over a half eaten bag of Doritos, you know how violent those hippies, I mean dragon owners, can be. But seriously, I feel that with the proper precautions, like no dragons operating motor vehicles or heavy machinery and no dragons perfoming brain surgery, heavy lifting or astrophysics, a happy-medium could be established.
I am proud to live in a country that protects individual liberty and the freedom of the individual to excercise those liberties so long as they don't harm all of the other wonderful and beautiful people that make up this city, state, country, earth and universe.

What is love?

What is love? One of those questions that noone seems able to answer fully. Through my limited time on this earth I have found it to be one of the most difficult questions to ponder and certainly one of the most painful questions in my life experience.

I have seen pieces of the puzzle that make up this thing called love. I cannot seem to put them together, I hope the greater meaning of this thing is not lost on me.

Love is the thing that appears somewhere between the matter and the antimatter, bonding what is real and what we can only assume to be real. Love is a thing that transcends control and justification. Love is the purest form of intangible energy. Love is spontaneous, love is a law of nature. Love can be the enemy of enemies and the friend of friends, love can be the friend of enemies and the enemy of friends. In the end love conquers all. Love is a mirror and love is a window. Love is a map and love is a well-trodden path through the dark forest. Love perpetually strengthens... Love is what I feel for you.
