Busy Weekend!

I am an uncle! Abigail Dorothy is my neice's name, she was born on Thursday March 10, 2005 weighing 7 lbs 15oz. She is really tiny, but a beautiful baby none-the-less! She's got a full head of hair and she can wail with the best of 'um. I drove up to the Chicago-land area to see her on Friday morning and I came back home with my Mom and my sister Leah on Friday night. I drove 3 and a half hours by myself to get up there and I got about an hour and a half into the trip home before my sister took the wheel... the first thing she did was turn onto I-88 going back towards Chicago. Unfortunately on the tollway exits are few and far between. We were 23 miles from the nearest exit in Roselle, so we spent a solid 40 minutes driving in a big cirlce. Oh well, better than me falling asleep behind the wheel.

I just got back home from Des Moines tonight. My brother recruited me at the last minute to volunteer for the Hoover-Wallace dinner. Check it out. http://www.dmregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050315/NEWS08/503150407/1001/archive
I got to see some really important people! I had to wear a suit and tie which was a major bummer, but the food was good and it looks great on a resume. I drove up around 10 am and I got back home about an hour ago (2 AM). I've put almost 1000 miles on my car in 4 days with *side trips*! Just wait until the trip down south and/or east!

Hoover-Wallace Dinner

I just got home from Des Moines where I volunteered at the Hoover-Wallace Dinner. It was good to see Vice-President Mondale, Senators Grassley and Harkin, Governor Brandstad, Governor Ray and Governor Vilsack. I'll write more later, but I'm proud to be an Iowan! Let's all celebrate the great humanitarian heritage that prevails in this wonderful state!

Time for a Vacation

It's time for a vacation people, peoples and peepz. I am going someplace interesting, hopefully noone will be able to find me. Hopefully I'll come back... actually check that... hopefully I'll find someplace so irresitably awesome that I will never want to come home. The chances of that happening are slim, unless of course I find some sexy blonde haired lady with hypnotic southern charm. Wish me luck, I'll be in Des Moines tomorrow, maybe coming home for a brief stay on Tuesday and then??? Any suggestions past Texas, California and Vegas will be at least considered. Applications for trip mates are being accepted until Tuesday afternoon, inquire within. Experience in spontaneity is required, patience for long road trips is also a must. Taste in rap music, specifically Tupac, preferrable.

Crazy Weekend

It's been a crazy few days since I last blogged. I've lived a lot of life in a lot of different places. On Friday night I went to Washington and partied with some of my hardcore little town folks. It's amazing how wild the parties get in the small town setting. I was really tired driving home as the sun was coming up. I watched all the colors forming, pulsating with the beat from the bass. I remember meeting some kids from West Des Moines who were up as late I was on Friday or Saturday morning, I can't remember which... those were some cool kids. Later that morning, either Friday or Saturday, I ran in to a crew that stayed up later than I usually do... Big G the bouncer and the off-duty stripper were hardcore cool, there was a happy ending in there somewhere too. On Saturday night I ran into some people I hadn't seen or chilled with for a long time. I saw Ghost's ex-girlfriend, I haven't seen her since we rolled in Maquoketa my Sophomore year of high school. I was definitely partying a little too hard on Saturday night, my demons started in on me and I had to call it an "early" night. Seriously though, sometimes you have to take a look around you and know that you aren't in the right place at the right time, especially if you're aren't with the right people. My summary for Saturday is, sometimes you want something so badly that you are willing to sacrifice the very thing you desire to acheive it. That's a good summary, that or else, why is everyone so concerned with everyone other than themselves? People say many things, saying and doing are distinctly different.

Angus Bacon Cheddar Ranch

Angus Bacon Cheddar Ranch Steakburger you were everything I thought you would be... except delivered by a stunningly gorgeous woman dressed in a cowgirl outfit. All things considered you were delicious, the perfect meal for a long evening of work and class. Although you may no longer be with me physically, your spirit lives on through the delicious ranchy aftertaste you've left me...

The "Life" of a Blogger

So I've been doing some surfing of Blogworld and some sipping of Budweiser. I can't help but notice how incredibly interesting some of these people's blogs are! In fact, I am led to believe that some of these people must leave their computer for an hour or two each day, soak up all the exciting stories about people with real and exciting lives, and then come home and blog about them as if they had happened in their own much less interesting lives. This is just an untested theory...
I just embarassed Meggie5000's little sister, tee hee hee... Megs give me a comment, you are officially responsible for my venture in blah blah blogging.

blah blah blog is born

I have officially crossed the threshhold of nerdom, yes indeed I am blogging. I am going to keep this short and sweet to avoid running the risk of people actually wanting to read what I have to say... that would go against the "fly under the RADAR" clause of my contract with.... some... multi-million dollar.... contract people.... errr... yeah...
